Pastor Nicky Joya talked about
the Biblical pattern of growth for every Christian church.
Quoting I Corinthians 11:1-2, Pastor Nicky cited Paul's effort
to follow the example of our Lord Jesus Christ. Paul, he said,
exhorted us to also follow the same example.
The Biblical pattern of growth for every church
comes by way of equipping God's people with the Word of God.
Once equipped with the Word of God, we are ready to obey what Jesus
has commanded us to do - to share the Gospel with the people.
According to Pastor Nicky, disciple making is the
main mission of every Christian church. "A church that
loses its sight on disciple making is not accomplishing the mission
Jesus Christ gave us."
As American Pastor Gene Wood said in his book, the
church has to "keep the main thing the main thing".
The main thing is to reach out for the lost sheep of God and bring
them to the saving knowledge of Jesus Christ.
Disciple making, Pastor Nicky added, also brings
Christians to spiritual maturity. "As you involve yourself
with the lives of other people, you grow," he said.
The Holy Spirit moves us to demonstrate love and
other Christian virtues and find more people to become followers of
Christ.
