Encouraging
Others To Do God's Will

Some
Christians tend to forget the importance of motivating our brothers
and sisters to continue their walk with God. They fail to realize
that a pat on the back or a simple "thanks" would make
someone feel important, as he or she should. For well all know
that everyone is important in the eyes of God.
In
his message, Pastor
Nicky Joya identified four ways by which we, as Christians, can
encourage others to do God's will. Quoting verses 4 to 7 of
Paul's letter to Philemon, Pastor Nicky listed the following:
A.
Appreciation: "Thank you!"
"I always thank my God as I remember you in my prayers, because
I hear..."
B.
Authentication: "I can see Christ in you!"
"...because I hear about your faith in the Lord Jesus and your
love for all the saints."
C.
Anticipation: "I believe in what God can do through
you."
"I pray that you may be active in sharing your faith, so that
you will have a full understanding of every good thing we have in
Christ."
D.
Admiration: "I applaud what you have done!"
"Your love has given me great joy and encouragement, because
you, brother, have refreshed the hearts of the saints."
At
the same time, Pastor Nicky explained that in encouraging others, one
has to be personal, positive, and passionate.
Admiration or gratitude is better expressed in such a pointed
manner that can be sincerely understood and felt by the person.
This is also best done at the present state, or soon after the
person completed a beautiful task for the Lord.
