A Life Given to God October
              06, 2002   In his message,
Pastor Nicky Joya explained how we, as Christians, can live a life
pleasing to God in our daily activities.  Pastor Nicky
emphasized the need for Christians to consecrate our lives in our
daily practice, by not conforming to the standards of the world.   Quoting Romans
12:1-2, Pastor Nicky clarified three things in the passage .

              The
ones addressed are believers of Jesus Christ.
              Paul's
words are pleading not commanding, appealing rather than
              demanding.
              The
aspects of this command to consecrate our lives to Jesus is not a
              one-time act but a daily practice. A.
Begin each day overwhelmed with God's awesome mercy and grace. Therefore,
I urge you, brothers, in view of God's mercy...
           1. A growing knowledge and understanding of the Bible
           2. Taking time to reflect
           3. Being thankful at all times   B.
Decisively present your life to Jesus. ...to
offer your bodies as living sacrifices, holy and pleasing to God -
this is your spiritual act of worship.
           1. It involves a recognition that your body is not your own anymore.
           2. It involves yielding your body to God's will.
           3. This act brings absolute pleasure to God.
           4. This act is true worship.   C. Live
           out your consecration. Do
not conform any longer to the pattern of this world but be
transformed by the renewing of your mind.
           1. By practicing mental disagreement to worldly values.
           2. By allowing the Word of God to shape your thinking.   D.
           Enjoy the spiritual benefits. Then
you will be able to test and approve what God's will is -  His good,
           pleasing and perfect will.
           1. A mind that concludes that God's will is the best.
           2. Christlikeness takes place. Previous
