The
Bible: The Word of God
May

There
are people today who doubt the authenticity of the Word of God or the
Bible. Agnostics and atheists have long been trying to
overthrow the Christian faith, by questioning the validity of the 66
books in the Bible. So far they have failed and never will they
succeed. For the Word of God stands forever.
Brother
Dale Custodio talked about how anthropologists have uncovered new
evidence supporting the claims of the Bible. The ruins of
cities and places mentioned in the Old Testament are now being
traced, lending scientific credence to what the Bible has been
conveying for at least two thousand years.
Christians,
however, do not need scientific proof to believe in the Bible.
With our faith in Jesus Christ, we discover spiritual truths that
skeptics could not possibly see with their doubtful eyes.
Quoting
verses from the Bible, Brother Dale described what the Word of God
is:
-
Perfect,
trustworthy, right, radiant, pure, righteous, precious
(Psalm 19:7-10)
-
Flawless
(Proverbs 30:5-6)
-
Complete
(Revelation 22:18-19)
-
Authoritative
(Isaiah 1:2; Galatians 3:10)
-
Sufficient
for salvation, perfection, hope and blessings (2 Timothy 3:15)
-
God-breathed,
useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in
righteousness (2 Timothy 3:16-17)
-
Blessing
(Romans 15:4)
-
Effective
(Isaiah 55:11)
-
Powerful
(I Thessalonians 1:5)
-
Determinative
- "He who belongs to God hears what God says. The
reason you do not hear is that you do not belong to God."
(John 8:47)
-
Truth
(John 17:17)
-
Source
of happiness (Psalm 19:8)
-
Wonderful
(Psalm 119:129)
-
Lamp
and light (Psalm 119:105)
-
Eternal
(Psalm 119:89)
