The
Shepherd and His Sheep
April

In
this message, Pastor Nicky Joya talked about Jesus Christ as the Good
Shepherd who invites us to become a part of His flock through our
wholehearted trust and obedience.
Text:
John 10:1-21
1.
Jesus is the true Shepherd.
a. The proofs of the Shepherd (John 10:1-5)
1. "He enters by the gate."
2. "The watchman opens the gate for Him."
3. "The sheep listens to His
voice."
b. The plea of the Shepherd (John 10:6-10)
"I am the gate; whoever enters through Me will be saved.
He will come in and go out, and find pasture."
2.
Jesus is the Good Shepherd. His
Goodness is seen in:
a: His sacrificial love
"The Good Shepherd lays down His life for the sheep." (John
10:11 in part)
b. His solid commitment
"The hired hand is not the shepherd who owns the sheep. so when
he sees the wolf coming, he abandons the sheep and runs away.
Then the wolf attacks the flock and scatters it. The man runs
away because he is a hired hand and cares nothing for the
sheep." (John 10:12-13)
c. His genuine concern
He is unlike the hired hand who...cares nothing for the sheep.
d. His passion for intimacy
"I am the Good Shepherd; I know My sheep and My sheep know Me -
just as the Father knows Me and I know the Father - and I lay down My
life for the sheep." (John 10:14)
e. His desire to reach the unlovable
"I have other sheep that are not of this sheep pen. I must
bring them also. They too will listen to My voice, and there
shall be one flock and one Shepherd." (John 10:16)
