Introduction

How Can We Get the Most Out of Our Study?

Bible study can be one of the most exciting activities anyone can be involved with. Enlightening and practical, the Bible has answers to life's most puzzling questions. It is the objective of this material to answer some of them by using God's Word. Like any study, however, it demands certain requirements in order for one to benefit from it.

A Biblical Example: The Bereans

1. Read Acts 17:10-12. With whom did the writer compare the Bereans? What was his conclusion?

Procedures in Bible Study

1. Be teachable. Be open to the truths of Scripture. Understand that it is God who speaks, and He is the Final Authority.

2. Be serious in your study. Don't merely accept teachings without checking the Bible first. Feel free to ask questions.

3. Be prompt. Come on time and finish on time.

4. Be active. Participate in the discussion and other group activities.

5. Be considerate. Understand that not all can learn at the same pace.

6. Be encouraging. Telephone or write to other members of the group between sessions.

7. Be faithful. Be prepared for every session by answering the questions in the lesson to be tackled.

8. Be prayerful. Dependence upon God in prayer is important in understanding His Word.
