Lesson 2: What Has Jesus Christ Accomplished?

In the previous lesson, we have learned about the deity and humanity of Jesus Christ. Although God, He took on human flesh in order that "He might taste death for everyone" (Heb 2:9).

Let us now look at the meaning of His sacrificial work in a more detailed manner.

The Meaning of Christ's Death

1. Jesus Christ's death fully satisfied the just demands of God's holiness.  Through His sacrifice, His wrath is turned away.

Heb 2:17

God is a just and holy God. As such, He cannot allow sin to go unpunished. God, on the other hand, is also loving. Instead of His wrath falling upon us, which should have been the case, it fell upon Jesus Christ.
